The House Committee is established by Standing Order 14.

 

Its function is to advise the Speaker on the administration of Parliament and the Parliamentary precincts, and on the services provided by Parliament. The House Committee is responsible for approving the budget estimates of Parliament before they are included in the Appropriation Bill and presented to Parliament.

 

It is chaired by the Speaker of Parliament. The Committee usually meets at least three or four times each year. It may act during a parliamentary recess.

 

The quorum of the Committee is 3 members.
